Camp math…

This month our Executive Director, Joe, looks at arithmetic from a slightly different perspective.

Camp Math…

We are brought to our knees in awe of what God is doing at Camp Elkanah. We cannot comprehend His plan and design.  It may not make sense to us, but when calculated through God's eternal designs, the picture is perfectly clear. This is Camp Math.

1 week = 40 weeks

We did a little math during our high school camp this summer and realized that there is mathematical proof to support the camp experience. Our high school campers spent the equivalent of 40+ weeks of Sunday Church at Elkanah in one week. The intensity of that experience was evident in the campers' response to the Holy Spirit moving. Many campers dedicated or rededicated their lives to Christ. Our goal is that this movement toward Christ does not falter. Please join us in praying for the campers whose lives were brought closer to Jesus this summer. We saw 323 campers walk across the bridge and meet with the God who changes lives.

5 – 1 = 4 + 2

Our staff is growing… as we say goodbye to the Gustafsons and wish them well on their new adventure in the great white north, we welcome two new members to our team. Hero Peters and Joy Farris join our team in the programming department, Hero will focus on camp programming year-round and summer camp and Joy will focus on the education side of our programming. We are very excited to welcome them to the team and to see how God will use them at Camp Elkanah year-round.

1 - 1 = 2

The first bathroom built at Camp, in 1967, is feeling its age. Many of you have been praying as we work to replace this bathroom with 2 new bathrooms. As we steward the old bathroom we are analyzing every leak and broken toilet. Please pray that the issues remain small and that our investment in repairs remains low. The new bathrooms are nearing completion. The exteriors are painted and ready for winter. With a metal roof and siding and trim to complement the train cars, we are excited as construction has moved to the interiors. Interior framing is nearing completion and the electrician and plumber are beginning to install their components. Pray for our contracting partners for safety and smooth work as they work to complete the bathrooms.

(U + Elkanah) x God = Life Change

God is changing lives at Elkanah. We are thankful that you are a part of that. As we look to the future, we see God continuing to grow Elkanah through the programming and the place of Elkanah. We would love for you to be involved, there are many ways to support us,

In Christ for Elkanah,

Joe (Mister Sir)
