One step…

This month our director, Joe, shares about summer camp.

What does it look like to take one step. One step closer to a new friend, one step closer to Jesus, one step…

We have seen God working in the lives of campers and staff members alike to take one step. A step that brings campers together to start a lifelong friendship of encouragement in Christ. A step that connects a camper with a counselor who shows them God’s unconditional love and demonstrates it to them daily, giving the camper confidence to be their true self. Then commit their life to follow Jesus and continue to grow their relationship with Him.

A step from one staff member to another when they feel they are at the end of their rope, but they still need to pour a little more into a camper. These steps are building blocks of relationships where we see Jesus change lives.

These steps are why we put in the long days and pour ourselves out when there is nothing left, at that moment.  We know that it is not from us that we are giving.  We know that it is only through God’s strength.

We cannot do this without the army behind us praying and supporting us as we seek to show God’s love to these campers. Thank you to those of you who take one step to support us through prayer. Thank you to those of you who take another step and commit to monthly giving. We could not be doing what we are doing without all of you.

We are already taking a step to think about next summer and how we can learn from this summer to give more campers and staff members the opportunity to cross the bridge and take one step!

Thank you for your continued support through prayer, volunteering, and the commitment of the Track Crew.

Joe (Mr.) Wing
